Air pollution increases resistance against antibiotics

A new study from the University of Leicester has proven that CO2, nitrogen oxides and fine dust particles lead to breathing diseases. In addition, this study has also discovered that hazardous substances emitted through industrial activity and traffic have negative consequences for the function of the bacterial biofilm. This can lead – according to the study – to resistance against antibiotics.
