Air pollution and air conditioning

With rising temperatures, the use of air conditioning systems to cool homes, offices and shops is becoming increasingly common, which significantly increases the need for electricity. In areas where electricity production is based on fossil fuels such as coal, it leads to an increase in the concentration of fine particles and ozone. A study based on the eastern United States therefore predicts 1,000 additional deaths annually by 2069.
