Air pollution causes six different kinds of illness

An average 1.3 million people worldwide die every year as a consequence of air pollution. The following illnesses, among others, have been directly linked to air pollution: bronchitis, asthma, heart diseases, pollen allergies, lung cancer and diseases of the reproductive system. Both in the short and long term, then, air pollution has clearly tangible consequences. Those mostly affected are the inhabitants of big cities, particularly in developing countries. The situation in France is also alarming. According to the French agency for public health, 48,000 death cases are related to fine dust and NOx.
